Caravan to Stop the Pipelines: August 4-13

Hi, happy summer!

The "How to stop an oil tanker" workshops were great. And they're
going to be very useful, now that we've learned part of the Enbridge
pipeline route is getting bulldozed and cleared in northern BC later
this summer. We're pulling together all the skills and strategy and
volunteers we can muster! WildCoast.ca is organizing a caravan to join
the action convergence in August.
Pacific Trails Pipeline plans to build a gas pipeline and blaze the
trail that Enbridge will use to get tarsands oil to the coast. Clans
in the Wet'suwet'en First Nation are calling for support to protect
their territory. The indigenous activists reject all pipelines across
their traditional lands. They have set up a camp in the right-of-way
where the pipelines are planned to cross the Morice River near
Smithers.

WildCoast.ca is answering the call. We're coordinating a caravan
leaving August 4 from Victoria and Vancouver and arriving at

. Volunteers – please help us collect food and camping gear and cash
for the trip. No big green foundation grants for us this time! So
every can of beans and every loonie will help stop the pipelines. :->
