Hello Chuck and Everyone,

Okay, try as I may, I cannot reproduce this problem on either my iPhone 11 or my iPhone 14 Pro.

The only thing I can think of to try is to do the following:

1.
From the Settings menu, select Face ID and Passcode.

2.
Set the Attention Aware Features, toggle, to off. This toggle is just above the Turn Passcode, Off, button.

3.
Reboot your device and then give the in-call volume adjustment a try.

Please let us know what happens, okay?

Mark

I'm having the same issues with my Iphone 11 pro. One thing that sometimes works is while the phone is ringing or while call is in progress I put phone on speaker and then turn up the volume all the way and that sometimes I repeat sometimes will fix it. Apple has had no fix everytime I've called them. Sometimes I just have to use speaker because I can't get the phone up loud enough. Good lock, just wanted you to know you are not alone.

Hello all,
Since iOS16, when I place the phone to my ear, I am having difficulty
adjusting the volume using the volume buttons on a phone call. I was
told to set up the device as new and even after doing this, I am still
experiencing this issue.
Is anyone else experiencing the same and if so, how was it remedied?
I did try enabling the change with buttons setting; however, this only
worked for a few days and then stopped allowing me to adjust the
volume. I have kept up with the updates and updated my phone to iOS
16.2; however, the same issue still exists.
Also, since setting up the phone as new, I am not receiving
notification for exchange emails with the mail app.
Anyone having this behavior and how was it resolved?
The volume issue is occurring on both an iPhone10R and iPhone13 pro.
Thank you in advance for any responses.
