In the past, the downside of restoring data through iCloud was that
iCloud did not back up music. A wireless or computer backup was the
only way to move everything from one iPhone to another. Now in iOS 15,
Apple has created three weeks of extra iCloud storage for moving all
data from one iPhone to another. It is unclear if this includes videos
and music. Even if it did, it would seem the time needed to upload
tens of gigabytes of data and then to download all that data would be
longer with the new iCloud transfer than the wireless transfer with
the two phones sitting next to each other.
