The verb exact (as in, "exacting revenge" or "exacting a promise") is not as commonly encountered as the adjective exact, (as in "an exact copy" or "exact measurements"). Sometimes people will mistakenly use the more common verb extract when they really want exact. Extract can refer to removing something by pulling or cutting or to getting information from someone who does not want to give it. While both words refer to getting something they are used in different ways. You extract a tooth, but you exact revenge.

Joel Reynolds is the owner and founder of Reynolds Extract, a flavoring extracts company. Although his business is successful, his marriage lacks passion. He is also often accosted by his annoying neighbor, Nathan. One day, a series of mishaps occur at the extract factory, resulting in an employee, Step, losing a testicle. Cindy, a con artist, reads a news story about the accident. Hatching a get-rich-quick scheme, she gets a temporary job at the factory, manipulating Joel into giving her more information about Step. She also begins a series of petty thefts from her co-workers, who openly accuse each other of the thefts. Although Step initially decides not to sue the company, he changes his mind after a meeting with Cindy, which she sets up in order to meet and flirt with him. Under Cindy's influence, Step hires attorney Joe Adler.

Principal photography began on August 25, 2008, in Los Angeles.[3] Shortly after completing Office Space (1999), director Mike Judge was already about 40 pages into his follow-up script, set in the world of an extract factory, when he was convinced by his representative team that he needed to shelve that and concentrate on something more commercial. "The only idea that I had that anyone was interested in was what eventually became Idiocracy," says Judge. Over the next several years he focused his energy on developing Idiocracy. But years later, by the time of the film's release, audiences had decided that Office Space had struck a chord, and they were ready to see Judge return to on-the-job humor and thus the Extract script was given new life.[4]

I have 2TB of available storage on my Dropbox account, but am unable to open a ZIP file (approx. 3.2GB) -- instead, I'm getting an error message that says "Couldn't extract files. Can only handle files up to 512 MB." Any thoughts on how best to resolve this? Thanks.

I get the same error message - no useful information, no details as to why. I'm personally trying to extract a 1.3GB zip file and wonder if there is a hidden max file size. If so, why is it not made clear in the error?

extract() has been superseded in favour of separate_wider_regex()because it has a more polished API and better handling of problems.Superseded functions will not go away, but will only receive critical bugfixes.

hi, but were you able to put this extracted log label, in the slack alert.

I've used other labels in the slack alert with this syntax $LABEL.
but for the extracted label, it doesn't work.

In England, pharmacists will sell pure alcohol. That is where I obtain mine from. I have also made extract of cardamom, cinnamon, star anise and root ginger. They are used in a similar way to the vanilla and made the same way expect you need to be extra careful to use really fresh spices. And they will need brusing with the flat of a knife to allow the alcohol to draw out their flavour.

I too have been making my own vanilla extract. However WARNING to all that vodka and other alcohols can grow mould! I found this one out the hard way, so check that the only thing floating in your bottle is vanilla beans.

I bought a pound of Madagascar vanilla beans from a couple months back. Unfortunately, I did not read this post first. The site that I found said to put in the whole vanilla beans unsliced for eight weeks and after 8 weeks to remove the vanilla beans and remove one end and press the beans out into the alcohol. My question is, did I ruin my batch of extract by not slicing the beans first?

May I ask what type of vanilla beans you chose from VanillaProductsUSA.com? I see Grade A which appear to be for baking and such and then Grade B that appear to be used for extracts becuase they are little more dried out. I will most likely only get these for the Extract so either would work?

I used rum and a jar that I keep in a desk drawer that I open and close often and have not bought a bottle of vanilla extract since. An easy and satisfying project, but since so few things go into it I do recommend you get good vanilla beans. It was a bit of a revelation. Happy to recommend a source. Looks like they also have a Facebook page.

When I saw how the price of vanilla extract had soared I decided to start a hobby of making vanilla extract for friends. The government (FDA) requirement is 13.35 ounces of vanilla beans per gallon of 70 proof alcohol. That works out to being about 47.5 grams of beans per pint of vodka. I aim for 48 grams per pint jar. That is about 22 vanilla beans. It is hard to be accurate in this since the beans have dried a little by the time I get them, sometimes a lot.

Good luck to you. I could have gotten past this problem by simply buying another large bottle of extract, but I bought pounds of beans, gallons of alcohol and, in the interest of science, made Vanilla Extract for friends and friends of friends.

Secondly, I have read that vanilla contains more than 200 aromatic compounds, many of which dissipate in the baking process. With no further information about that I am reluctant to heat the vanilla at all before making the extract.

I have always loved making my own vanilla extract, though good beans now cost a pretty penny! :) I find homemade vanilla extract to have a flavor that is more rich then the extract I used to buy in stores, and can never go back to store-bought now; the flavor tastes off to me.

The EXTRACT() function uses the same kinds of unit specifiers as DATE_ADD() or DATE_SUB(), but extracts parts from the date rather than performing date arithmetic. For information on the unit argument, see Temporal Intervals. Returns NULL if date is NULL.

This is the inverse of the DATE_FORMAT() function. It takes a string str and a format string format. STR_TO_DATE() returns a DATETIME value if the format string contains both date and time parts, or a DATE or TIME value if the string contains only date or time parts. If str or format is NULL, the function returns NULL. If the date, time, or datetime value extracted from str cannot be parsed according to the rules followed by the server, STR_TO_DATE() returns NULL and produces a warning.

Some of the extracts are termed "historical," since they provide a point-in-time compilation of data from all records in RPA Legacy and RPA Cloud. The "daily" extracts either provide daily updates of the historical data or are simply recurring data extracts with the latest information for those fields.

Note: It is the licensee's responsibility to build its own automated system from the bulk data provided. NCAOC is unable to provide support or assistance to licensees in creating their databases, other than the file layouts supplied for each extract. View the following links for more information about extracts.

EXTRACT FEE SCHEDULEIn addition to the fees listed below, a $495 setup fee is required if a historical extract is not purchased. Additionally, a $5,000 performance bond is necessary in order to execute an extract licensing agreement with the NCAOC.

EXTRACT BILLING POLICYThe licensee will receive an invoice from NCAOC each month - on the second of each month or the next business day following, if the second is on a weekend or a holiday. The invoices that extract licensees receive are for that month's access. For example, the August 2 invoice is charging the company for accessing the extract(s) in August.

In addition, once each year, all extract licensees that have a surety bond (not a cash bond) will be required to submit proof of current bond coverage. Failure to provide this documentation will result in termination of the licensing agreement.

A data extract is a subset of information that is saved separately from the original dataset. It serves two purposes: to enhance performance and to utilize Tableau features that may not be available or supported in the original data. By creating a data extract, you can effectively reduce the overall data volume by applying filters and setting other limitations.

Once a data extract is created, it can be refreshed with the latest data from the original source. During the refresh process, you have the flexibility to choose between a full refresh, which replaces all existing content in the extract, or an incremental refresh, which only includes new rows since the previous refresh.

Improved performance: Interacting with views that utilize extract data sources results in better performance compared to views connected directly to the original data. Extracts optimize query performance, resulting in faster data analysis and visualization.

Under Data Storage you can select either Logical or Physical tables. Logical tables store data in one extract table for each logical table in the data source. On the other hand, physical tables store data in one extract table for each physical table in the data source.

If your extract consists of tables combined with equality joins and meets the Conditions for using the Physical Tables option, you should select Physical Tables. This option performs joins at query time and can potentially improve performance and reduce the size of the extract file.

Tableau generally recommends that you use the default data storage option, Logical Tables, when setting up and working with extracts. In many cases, some of the features you need for your extract, like extract filters, are only available to you if you use the Logical Tables option.
