The Offshore App is designed to save PredictWind weather information in an offline mode, great for boats heading offshore with a need to download forecast GRIB files on an Iridium GO, GO! exec, Satellite, email connection or coastal cruising where a cellular network is intermittent. Once the files are downloaded, they are stored locally on the device for you to review at any time.

PredictWind delivers the weather forecast for GRIB offshore in several different GRIB files. There is one set of files with a 5 km detail level and another for 10 km. There is also an even better resolution of GRIB files in some areas, but it is not practically possible to download these with IridiumGo. Within the 5- and 10 km groups are the following files. The logical file name also contains information about the resolution.
3. The Predict Wind offshore appIf you want to use your Iridium go! with Predict Wind, then you will need to download the Predict Wind Off Shore application to your smartphone, tablet or to your PC/MAC. The normal Predict Wind app will not work with the Iridium Go!
