But apart from this, if ncsoft could just give us a ping booster we CAN use that would be awesome. I have a dedicated pipe line, usually getting under 20ms on games, here I get over 120ms most of the time. Poor show, and I would use a ping booster to enjoy the game more.
Sadly, there is no FREE ping booster (don't even bother going for "cracked" version, unless you want a free virus), sadly, and on the PAID sector it comes down to 4 > WTFast, Pingzapper, Battleping, Mudfish, in my Experience all work to some extend, tried all 4 and ended up with Mudfish (cheap as *cricket* and its the only one who really gets my ping down, not just reduces lag spikes)
Mudfish > Cheap as *cricket*, good customer support, Confusing interface (web) and kinda annoying to set up [reduced my ping about 30% (so the most its actually noticeable) killed of 50% of lagspikes]
I am about to quit Blade and Soul altogether just because of this horrific connection issue I have been experiencing. My ping is around 350-450ms, without using any ping boosters. When using a ping booster (Pingzapper), my ping is now around 280-300ms.
Because I have played Heroes of Newerth on a North American server (before it had a dedicated SEA server) and have not experienced gaming issues like this. My ping was around 50-80ms back then and my internet connection was PLDT DSL 8mbps only.
Also, which tunnel do you use for your ping booster? Try to not use automatic and use one that is closest to the game server, which is at Dallas. Other than Pingzapper (sometimes it doesn't work for some people), there are other ping boosters that worked well for me too, like KillPing or WTFast but they're generally more expensive.
You are playing on NA from SEA, the distance alone should tell you that you will never get low ping even with ping booster. The most you can get is probably slightly below 200, I got that on another game that I play in NA as well but never get ping that low while I was still playing on BnS NA. This is not something that you or NCSoft can fix short of opening a new server for SEA region which we all know will never happen.
This is the reason why a lot of players in SEA region move to BnS TW instead, even those that does not know the language. The difference is night and day, the dps difference between high ping and low ping is actually quite substantial.
Oh the joys of hugh ping: 300+ here (from new zealand) with unlimited fibre... i expect around 200 on us servers... 300+ isnt unplayable it just hurts my dps badly (520 ap lock out dpsed me a 595 lock XC ) surely another server closer to home would help...
At 300+ ping it is costing you 150-200ap. I have tested this extensively with my Sin at 750ap, I am consistently out dps'ed by Sin's of roughly 550-600ap. Unless you're inside the US, or an EU country, NCWest won't help you and doesn't care due to use being such a small percentage of their customer base.
Now don't drag all of us with your problem. I for one still be able to play smoothly from Oceanic region with 200ping. If they're unable to help you then quit and play alternative server such as TW. just, don't, drag, all, of, us, down. Bye
NEVER compare NA server with Korean, NEVER. Korea has much smaller area to cover, thus gives their servers much less strain than NA that has to send packets to all over the world. Not only that, the majority of Koreans play in internet cafes, which allows the connection to be even more concentrated to mostly those cafes. If you play at home in Korea, you wouldn't get that 8 ping that you'd get in cafes (yes, any game you play in internet cafe in Korea will give you 8 ping. BnS, BDO, League, Overwatch, you name it)
but if a player is thousands miles away from the server and getting frustrated at his high ping like OP, maybe he needs to learn a bit about latency. whatever he learns about it and still dont like transferring to nearer server, he can choose to quit the game or accept his high ping.
Note that for most of the above scenarios, a player will need to be on the ship so that they can ping the Radar Booster via the Terminal. This is something that players can do while opening doors and disabling turrets for their crewmates.
Pros like Asian Jeff and polarized are using a new application called Gear Up Booster to achieve 0 ping in Fortnite. The application is simple to use, connecting you to the closest server location for optimal performance. Kxng tests out the application in this video and shares his experience with improved ping. Check out the video below to see how it works!
Having 0 ping can provide a significant advantage in Fortnite. It reduces input delay and allows players to react faster, giving them an edge in competitive gameplay. Kxng showcases his improved ping in the video, highlighting how it enhances his performance and allows him to take walls and win fights more consistently.
Ping measures latency, which is how quickly a signal travels from and returns to your computer. Within games, this latency is the delay before the game reacts to your commands. If you've ever found yourself inexplicably hit by a virtual enemy despite ducking behind cover, you've met high ping.
High ping creates an annoying delay between your moves and the server's response, causing your gameplay to limp at a frustrating pace. Pro gamers try to dodge high pings by investing in high-end hardware, but what about casual gamers? Well, this guide is for you. We will show you how to fix high ping and reduce lag in your online gaming.
High ping equals lag, and lag disrupts your game, jumbles graphics, and impedes smooth streaming. Anything under 50 ms counts as 'low ping,' while over 150 ms gets you into the undesirable 'high ping' range.
Remember, identifying the source of your high ping involves a bit of detective work. But fear not; with patience, observation, and settings tweaks, you can reduce your ping and return to smooth gaming.
Server traffic fluctuates throughout the day. Some games see a surge in players during peak hours, which can strain server resources and increase ping times. So, consider scheduling your gaming sessions at off-peak hours.
Finding the sweet spot for gameplay can require some experimentation. Play at different times to see when you experience the lowest ping. This trial-and-error approach can help you pinpoint the best times for lag-free gaming.
Many games let you choose the server you connect to. Always pick the server nearest to your location for the best ping. By shortening the distance, you'll speed up the back-and-forth data exchange, thus lowering your ping.
Your game's frame rate significantly affects this. Higher frame rates offer smoother animations but can contribute to high ping. So, try lowering your frame rate from the game settings and check if your gameplay improves.
Crush the lag! Lower your ping for smoother, snappier, lag-free gameplay. By fine-tuning your network, managing your connection, and adjusting game settings, you're armed to enhance your gaming performance. Happy gaming!
The newly emerged severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Omicron sublineages, including the BA.2-derived BA.2.75.2 and the BA.5-derived BQ.1.1 and XBB.1, have accumulated additional spike mutations that may affect vaccine effectiveness. Here we report neutralizing activities of three human serum panels collected from individuals 23-94 days after dose 4 of a parental mRNA vaccine; 14-32 days after a BA.5 bivalent booster from individuals with 2-4 previous doses of parental mRNA vaccine; or 14-32 days after a BA.5 bivalent booster from individuals with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection and 2-4 doses of parental mRNA vaccine. The results showed that a BA.5 bivalent booster elicited a high neutralizing titer against BA.4/5 measured at 14-32 days after boost; however, the BA.5 bivalent booster did not produce robust neutralization against the newly emerged BA.2.75.2, BQ.1.1 or XBB.1. Previous infection substantially enhanced the magnitude and breadth of BA.5 bivalent booster-elicited neutralization. Our data support a vaccine update strategy that future boosters should match newly emerged circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants.
