Hey guys,

I just met with Bob and he is fully behind supporting us for getting the SDK into our game and getting it on Steam. However, he suggested that we should probably look into getting our own license for Unity 5 since it would probably be best not to commingle our business with the school for political reasons. He said he knows we are alumni, but its probably safest for both the program and for us to stay seperate. He did say thought that they will still support us no matter what and they will still talk about our game no matter where it goes from here. So all in all, they are still behind us. Mike and I will begin talking about getting a license and we will look forward to getting the SDK into our game once all the paperwork has gone through with Steam. I’ll keep everyone updated.

I'm confused.  Why can't we get a license for Unity 4.3 or whatever version it was we made Vinyl with so we don't have to deal with potential upgrade issues?

I think the idea was that Unity 5 is potentially free/cheap. However, that may apply retroactively to older versions of Unity too, in which case there's no need to upgrade. Or, the cost may be cheap enough that going with the older version is a better solution. I still need to look into that stuff.

We can get a license for Unity 4.3. I just figured we could get a Unity 5 license as well in case we did want to do upgrades in the future or see if our game will work on it. Either way though, we can use a free version of Unity 5 for now if we want to go that route and then buy it when or if we need it.

404 Sight seems like its going to be free on Steam so I'd imagine we could be as well.

Zeph and Mike Thanks for talking to Bob. I am supportive in any way to get our game up on steam!
