So, since it seems that didn't happen today. (Or you did it without me...) What day is the best for all of you? I'm thinking Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 8 might work for all of our time zones. Thoughts? Yea/Nay?

So let's plan on tomorrow at 8 PM. Those that are local can meet at my house. Those that aren't we'll set up some sort of video chat if you want to join.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend, but that's fine.  If I can't then I support all the decisions you guys make, otherwise I'll show up and oppose everything.

My only concern:
- Unity license?
- How are we going to publish the game? Previously we use the only professional Unity license EAE have. Now? If we use the same computer/license, who will do it? iJason? Mike?
- Rough timeline, maybe (obviously with everyone is working, we can't push a dead timeline)

Unity license/publishing - Brianne has already reached out to EAE for support, so hopefully they can provide this in some way (it might mean a trip to the Lab in the North, but I'll do my best to avoid the encroaching Others). If not we can discuss alternatives. I believe Unity 5 is free semi-professionally now? I know they just announced something at GDC. We could look into that possibly, which might mean some/much porting of code, but we can discuss it with other possible options.

Timeline - So part of the reason (maybe the largest part) we're meeting up tonight is that Zeph has expressed interest in running the business-y stuff for us (LLC, possible tax implications, etc.) for whatever we decide to do. Unfortunately he couldn't make tomorrow, so we had to do it today pretty much. Which I know cuts a few people out. Once we come up with a vetted plan, he'll probably be in charge of letting everyone know what our timeline looks like. Like you said, it may be tough with everyone working to get exact estimates, but we should have some idea.

bJason, even if Unity license is free, I don't think they will let us making money with free license. But... I am not sure. I believe Brianne/Mike/Zeph will come up with something and let us know.

Porting to Unity 5. Hmm... personally, I have no idea how much work is needed. There are mix information from the LinkedIn Unity group I followed. Some said it's easy to transition from old Unity to Unity 5. Some said it's tricky - mostly on the graphics.  Does anyone have experience with Unity 5? Anyways, we can look into this further if necessary. (More about Unity 5:http://www.studica.com/blog/unity-5-launch-improvements)

Mike, general/rough timeline is good so we know where we head to and when we wish to be there. ;)

Looking forward for the producers (-JJ) discussion result.

4.6 and 5 are essentially the same thing.  I know 4.3 to 4.6 was a massive pain in the ass for us, but I'm not sure Vinyl would run into the same issues.  Ultimately it would be easier to just leave it on whatever version we built it on, but I suppose it depends on how much free time people have.  Even if I had time (which as of today I most certainly do not), EA doesn't allow me to work on external projects.  I can offer support on upgrading I suppose if we decide to go that route.

Hey guys,

Mike, Brianne and I met last night. In light of everyone’s busy schedules and limited availability, we decided last night that it would be good for us to continue the project. Here are my initial plans: I’m going to spearhead the project while managing the LLC. I am also going to begin our negotiations with Steam. Furthermore, I will also be meeting with AJ, Bob and EAE on Friday to discuss our options with Unity or alternatively, if possible whether they can get us Unity 5 for free. If that is not an option, then we can find a quick way to purchase a license for the team ourselves or work with our old version of Unity. Once we have a license and all paperwork has been completed to get the SDK from Steam, Mike and I will work on getting the team what we need to get started on implementing the SDK. We also discussed pricing models or the idea of charging for our game but decided we can further discuss this issue as we move forward. As I get the ball rolling, I’ll keep you guys updated on what EAE says and get started on any paperwork necessary to get the SDK from Steam. If you guys have any questions in the mean time let’s keep talking here in this thread.
