Peace  to  earth ( no earth quakes), with energising fire; peace to the outer space with the energising wind; peace to the sky with the energising sun; peace to the  directions and to the intermediate directions; peace to the fire; peace to the wind; peace to the Sun; peace to the Moon and constellations; peace to the waters; peace to the healing herbs; peace to the forests; peace to the cattle; peace to the goats; peace to the horses; peace to all humankind; peace to the Creator; peace to the priests; let there be peace everywhere and may I attain peace. From that all-pervading peace, may there be peace to me and to all animals and birds; I make peace with all creation; may I have peace.

More from the ghosha santi peace chant

Prosperity, modesty, resolution, austerity, memory, dwelling, faith, truth and dharma; may these arise and grow from all sides.. May not prosperity, modesty, resolution, austerity, memory, dwelling, faith, truth and dharma ever abandon me. May these not abandon me ever.

The Sun that rises in the east sees to the welfare of the gods ( nature). May we continue to see for a hundred autumns ( years), may we live for a hundred autumns, may we rejoice for a hundred autumns, may we enjoy for a hundred autumns, may we radiate with glory for a hundred autumns, may we listen to what is beneficial for a hundred autumns, may we speak well for a hundred autumns,, may we never be defeated for  hundred autumns

Shanti/Peace chants (Ten Peace Chants from Yajur Veda)

I have recorded ten peace chants from yajurveda ( including ghosha shanti), all of which chanting I learnt from Sri Krishnamacharya. It is less than 15 minutes and you may please listen to it on New Year’s Day and any time later . Here is the link

Azhvar Tirunagari in South India has a beautiful ancient temple where the presiding deity is Sri Adinatha and the City boasts as the birthplace of Nammalvar the foremost of Vaishnava  Acharyas in South India. Nathamuni  much later meditated under/in the cavity of a Tamarind Tree in the temple vicinity and composed a unique yoga text "yoga Rahasya". However even before he could impart this text to his grandson, he reached the lotus feet of the Lord. Last century our Guru Sri Krishnamacharyra, it is claimed, sat under the same tamarind tree and visualized the whole of "Nathamuni"s Yoga Rahasya" in a state of yogic samadhi. Our friend Joshna Ramakrishnan, an ardent yoga practitioner and teacher of yoga, recently visited the temple of Adhinatha and with the permission of the authorities took a few pictures of the ancient tree in the ancient temple. Many sincere thanks to Joshna for her efforts and sharing the picture with us
