Hello all,
I have an older desktop I am running windows10 on right now. I was going to try and set up a VM but it tells me due to some issue with my cpu I may not be able to run VM’s. I think I will do a dual boot on my machine rather than trying out a VM. Where can I download a copy of slint from? Or is there another bistro that people recommend? I am going to possibly be doing python3 programming on it. I am enrolled in the free python course at Cisco.

Thanks,
Greg Wocher

When I upgrade the Linux on my bare metal, I'll be going with ubuntu
18.04, unless of course I don't get around to it for a few months, and
then I'll give Ubuntu 20.04 a look. Ubuntu is just what I'm familiar
with, and when I installed Ubuntu 18.04 in a virtual machine, it went
off without a hitch. I still need to give Slint a go though.

Hello Greg,

the website is at https://slint.fr

link for installation:

Hi Christopher,

Q. Why blind people still use Ubuntu?
A. Because they are used to it and didn't try Slint <smile>

Anyway I will make available tomorrow an image of a mini Slint that you
can just copy to an USB stick or an USB attached drive, then expand to
use all the space available on the device and complete typing a few
simple commands. Stay tuned.

Best regards,

Didier

Hello,

I just uploaded an image that allows to try a mini Slint without
installing it, then complete it typing a few commands. All is explained
in this document:

Best,

Didier
