While I'm reading my mail in alpine, at the top of the message, after the subject line, I often hear something like this...
parts/attachments First part 33 lines text ok charset iso88...something along those lines anyway. When I read the same messages in my windows
environment, I never hear anything about attachments. is there a setting I need to tweak to make that message go away, or am I simply stuck with it?

I think you are stuck with that if you want to know when you really have
an attachment.
I just stop speech or skip over that.
There is a lot of config options, so I might be wrong.
