Vinux 4 for non-English speakers

Dear,

Will Vinux 4 be a viable option for non-English native speakers? I know
it's possible to select another language during a hard drive
installation, but I wonder to what extent it can conflict with your
customizations, e.g., keyboard shortcuts or scripts made to work in an
English centered environment. As a Brazilian Portuguese speaker, can I
help to test something in this sence?

There are few keyboard shortcuts compared with earlier vinux releases, and one can customize keyboard shortcuts or bash_aliases to make them easier for a specific language.
The only language I speak well besides English is Spanish so I've never run in to major issues with anything. A few programs that are Vinux specific, i.e. written by Vinux users and developers may not have translations, but almost all others have a range of available translations.
The only time I would wonder about keyboard conflicts is with languages with large char sets that require more than shift to write, but I think most of this has probably been worked out upstream by Ubuntu and or gnome devs and those who work on specific packages.
Are you familiar with F123? It's based out of Brazil and has releases in Spanish and English besides Portuguese.
While I found Vinux 3.x a generally better customized distro compared with what F123 had to offer back then I am not sure what the current state of that project is, i.e. are they working on any translations or special packages.
I think other than welcome messages and the like that have been customized in Vinux all core OS stuph is widely translated. If you find anything that needs attention, please let us know, and join the documentation list to keep your finger on the ppulse of what is being tested.
We do have folks who could probably help with some of the details that could be put in to non-english languages, but do not know how hard it would be to make a Vinux language-pack to push these localizations out to users.
