OS X from Mac will run on Intel based microprocessors and as such can run in vbox.  In my opinion, it is a much better way to run that OS than natively loaded on a hard drive on an x586 chip as the firmware in the OS supports  mostly Apple hardware and not the many other hardware used on most laptops and desktops.

Bottom line:  OS would run on my hard drive but without support for wifi.  In vBox it worked - but there are other issues with vBox like video support and screen resolution.

Hi Craig, you would have to buy one - Mac OS is not free or
open-source and their hardware although very good quality is
over-priced. The same is true of Windows - you must buy a copy, you
cannot legally download one from the internet. This is the main
advantage of Linux and Vinux because they are open-source and
therefore can be copied and distributed freely.

Hello Tony, yes i can see your point as vinux is free, which is better. i
think i will probably stick with that as i dont want to be buying all these
operating systems.

Hello Craig,

Like most operating systems you would go to a store that sells computers or software.  It costs about $35.00 here in USA.

Hi David, I think that price is for an upgrade, rather than the whole
system - in the UK it seems to be £100 and up for a full version, but
I could be wrong I often am.
