Hi Ned.
I rely on limited vision in Vinux 5.1 Unity.
Personally I don't like the "High Contrast" setting, I change to
"ambience" as soon as I can.
colour settings to can be used to invert to white on black in
Thunderbird, Gedit, GUI terminal. Have a look in preferences or options,
on others.
I have not been able to improve on the mouse pointer.
Large print is in the accessibility panel, larger panel/menu text can be
achieved in system settings/screen display/scale for menu and title
bars: Be careful with this, if you increase too far you won't have room
for the entire wording. It is a sliding scale, default 1.0. I usually
only go to 1.12, or 1.25.
ctrl + +, works in some apps, better in others. Firefox will go to 300%,
(ctrl + - to shrink). Thunderbird Prefers ctrl + mouse wheel to
increase/decrease, to about the same percentage.
In Xsane and Gimp, especially printing, it is worth learning the key
short-cuts. Easily twice as fast as mucking about with a mouse!
Hope this Helps,
Bill
