Hello lists,

A big packages update for Slint just occurred.

Updating is necessary to get security fixes, as usual and as root type:
slapt-get -u
slapt-get --upgrade
dotnew (or dotnew-gtk).

All kernel packages have been upgraded to version 4.9.52 as a security
fix.

You need to install the new packages, slapt-get won't do it for you.

To do that, if you are running slint64-14.2.1.2, update the other
packages then type as root:
upgrade-kernel
This will also update GRUB.
Still running slint64-4.2.1? Upgrade you Slint first, cf.:
http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/doc/README.upgrade

All changes are listed in this ChangeLog:
http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-testing/ChangeLog.txt

Highlights of the main changes:
gparted has been upgraded to version 1.0.0 based on Qt5 and is now
accessible with speech.
mutt has been upgraded to version 1.12.1 and the package now includes
leacollar.sh, complete configuration utility for Mutt.
magic-wormhole has been added: it allows to securely transfer data
between computers.
barnard has been added. It's a fully accessible command line mumble
client.

magic-wormhole and barnard are stored in the extra repository, so to
install them you will need to type after slapt-get -u:
slapt-get -i barnard
slapt-get -i magic-wormhole

Have fun!

Didier
