Hi folks,
I got caught up on last week's meeting minutes. At first, I wasn't sure what team I should ask to be part of, but as I thought about it, I'm wondering if my best
fit would be the documentation and testing team. Whatcha think, Bill? Could you use another hand?

Hello Mark,
Welcome aboard! You seem to be our most prolific tester atm, and capable
of putting words together as well!
I will schedule a mumble soon, but there are a number of groups, with a
lot of people in multiple groups, and hard to find time slots that suit
all.
Thanks Mark,
Bill

Thanks Bill. Glad to be a part of the team.
It's easy for me to test, as I have a lot of time on my hands. The only time i'm out of the picture is when chemo has me down for the count. thankfully, that's only two or three days every 3
weeks.
If there's anything test wise you want me to be looking at of for, lemme know.

No problem, Mark,
you are doing fine! I downloaded that speakup script of Zahari's to try
on Fedora, but haven't done anything with it yet. I have Fedora 25
server on a box, I'd like to make talk. I have a live Fedora 25 which
speaks, and orca is installed on it.
I still try to do things with my dwindling sight, have an assortment of
magnifiers, and can work fine in Unity.
I seemed to be able to manage debian on my normal box, with Gnome.
Fedora has Gnome, but I didn't like it at all on a secondary box with a
smaller screen, need to give it a run on my normal.
I guess I'll get used to Gnome/mate eventually..Sigh. this from a bloke
who wanted nothing to do with Unity when Vinux moved away from Gnome.

I'm wirking with that script even as I write this. I'm hitting small glitches, but tha'ts not the fault of Zahari's script. It's the learning curve of fedora I think. I'll keep documenting
my progress. Once you get the script installed and you end up rebooting, you may hafta do sudo modprobe speakup_soft to get speech back. Looking into this a little deeper. I'll letcha know.
As far as gnome and mate go, I like me some mate. It eats less resources. Maybe as you start playing with it more you might like it. :)
Well, the test machine's rebooted, so lemme see what I've broken. lOL!
