Hi,
getting straight into my new role as team leader for testing team.
We are nearly ready for Vinux 4 images to go to Beta testing.
What does this mean for Vinux testing team members?
To start making yourself known to me on the Vinux testing mailing
list would be a great start please, I know many of you from our
threads on Vinux support but would love to hear from you, your level
of involvement and what you look for when testing Vinux images.
We are nearly ready to stop daily builds and concentrate on a set of
images for testing and feedback.
What this entails is tracking down any bugs that we are able to fix
before release or improvements that our small development team may
be able to implement. From a small amount of builds we are better
able to track known issues and then can target a single build to
address those problems and again call for feedback and testing.
So put on your Vinux hat for a few days, break out the USB media to
write images to and make sure that your zsync scripts are up to date
so you don't use a lot of data and hammer our server.
Please use the Vinux testing and documentation mailing list to
discuss and converse about these images as this is the best place
where interested parties can help one another.
If you are not yet on the mailing list send an email to
vinux-document...@googlegroups.com or sign up on
http://groups.google.com/group/vinux-documentation
This is the only email going to vinux-support and vinux-development
and any further conversations on the thread I will be answering on
the testing / documentation list.
Thank You,
Bill Taylor
Vinux testing team leader
