Hi all,
Dug a bit more into my engine today. I also got the cylinder head back. Just waiting for a new torque wrench to replace my busted one.
Onto the pics. I'm wondering if I should maybe get my rods checked for straightness...
I also have some photos of the oil pump since I believe Mike was concerned it could be damaged from all the metal.
I haven't hacked open the oil filter yet.

Any material on the oil pump gears is just material from shop rags. They are not pitted or damaged.

Connecting rod bearings.

The streak along the top portion is the plastigauge

Curious, where did you have your heads done & (if I may) how much did it cost?

Kirin,

Looks pretty good from the pictures!

On a side note, have you decided how to keep from loosing another screw
into the engine?

I drilled small holes in mine and safety wired them(48 IDA's).
It wasn't easy, but the peace of mind is worth it!

Cheers, dave

Easy. Anytime you’re doing any work, stuff blue rags into the intakes.
