(I know, it's been a long time since this mailing list saw any activity ...)
For the past two years Stephen Jones has been organizing the "Interim Computer Festival", which was a smaller event in Seattle that helped to keep people engaged. At the most recent ICF we had here in Seattle this past weekend Stephen announced that the ICF is ending, but that we are brining back VCF PNW. We'll miss ICF, but given the name it was never supposed to last forever.
I don't have a lot of details to share with you yet. We think we have a venue to use but we need to work out the dates and all of the other logistics. I'll share those details when I can. But for now here is what we are thinking:
- The event is primarily run by the ICM (Interim Computer Museum) with whatever help we can get from the fine folks at VCFed.org.
- We're looking at 20 to 25 exhibitors, subject to space constraints at the venue.
- It will be in the Seattle area this time around.
- We'd like to have presentations and talks again.
- We're going to make it more community focused - an event for people in the hobby. That doesn't mean we'll do it in secret, but with the change of venue and circumstances we don't have to worry as much about drawing in large crowds.
Stay tuned! And please spread the word - the best way to do that is to let people know that we are active again, and to join this mailing list.
