Yesterday I placed a post on the craigslist board asking for a car
within a specific price range for my brother-in-law. About 30 minutes
later I get an email that it had been "flagged" which means it had
been taken off of the board.

I was provided with several resources to research why this may have
happened, I looked at their TOS, Terms of Use and banned items.... and
could not find anywhere that it was stated that you could not ask for
a car in a certain price range. I then posted my question to what
turned out to be a very hostile forum board.

One person offered a suggested re-wording, which I followed after
correcting a few spelling errors, and reposted the request. Same
outcome, it too was flagged and removed from the board.

I once again posted to the hostile forum board and found out that just
anyone can go in and "flag" a posting and it will be automatically
removed with no review by anyone affiliated with CL.

Later in the evening I conducted an experiment and posted a variety of
different items, using different screen names, to an assortment of
categories and each and everyone of them was flagged.

My conclusion is this, a few people have decided that they are going
to be the ONLY ones posting to craigslist and no one else will get
their post on the forum. If you try, it will be flagged and removed.
There is no oversight and it seems to be a hostile and negative
environment.

The original intent behind craigslist has been lost and taken over by
a Gestapo like group. It is my belief that what was once a great venue
for buying and selling has run its course and should be avoided like
the plaque
