HI
I guess I will wade into this discussion. To be truthful, we do not
know what 'Viking' age moorings look like. In Scandinavia, there are
moorings with pins either cemented in or put in with sulfer. These date
much later than the Viking age.
What is found in MN and many other states in the US, are stones with a
hole made with what looks like a flat chisel. The tooling is apparent,
which then classifies it under 'archaeological' and not nature
made-geological.
My study of these stones are now 8 years into the mystery. I do not
say 'mystery' lightly. New info is changing my ideas. I hope others
will lend some thought on this aspect of possible 'artifacts'- these
triangular shaped holes.
