metalurgical reports from arch digs

Hello,
As I am working on the 'mooringstone' issue, I am wondering if there
any known metalurgical testing results that I can find on the
net/whathaveyou. I am looking for tests that took known Viking or
later Norse iron objects from archaeological digs (example Greenland,
Iceland, Labadore, Baffin Is.). I am interested in their components in
making up the artifact. Also, if thin sectioning was used.
We have some of these holed stones that have metal and / or substances
in them that chase to a magnet. Some of these have been thin sectioned
and their components listed.
I am looking for test results of known objects from the Viking/Norse
time to balance against our information.
