• A village boy uses an umbrella to protect himself from the heat as he walks on a dried water bed near Basudevpur village, about 140 kilometres from the eastern Indian city of Bhubaneshwar. Places across north India have been experiencing a heat wave condition, with temperature in the capital New Delhi crossing 42.9 degrees Celsius (109.2 Fahrenheit), according to news reports.
