All,

Here is the sign-up website and information.  I know the system is difficult to use.  Would it be better to try to get people on a Saturday or Sunday for a half-hour or an hour rather than during the week?  If we had 8 people every weekend, we could probably knock out most of the weeds every week.  If we had 16 people involved, everyone would only need to come 2 hours or so per month.

Please let me know if weekends or weekdays would be best for you.

Right now, the weeding is the biggest obstacle for successfully producing food.
Best Regards,
Tim Perkins

Hey Fellow Gardners!

The garden is planted!  Check out http://www.vineyardcommunitygarden.com/ for video and pictures from the process.  Thanks to all of you who could make it out to give a hand with the planting and digging!

There will be a lot of opportunities for serving in the garden beginning in the next couple of weeks!  We will be managing it all through the website and I'll let you know when that is up and running.  There will be opportunity to help with the Prayer Garden and the potential Children's Garden as well.

To start off, since we are still working on the irrigation system, we need volunteers to come and water the plants.  They need a lot of water and they need it every day!  It will probably take about one hour per day and it would be best done in the morning time.  Could you please respond to this email if you are able to serve in that way for one day during the next 2 weeks?  Please let me know ASAP which days you can help; We need one person per day.

Also, please bring any grass clippings or leaves you have to the church and place them on the far side of the garden.  We are using the clippings and leaves to fill the walkways and to make compost for our soil.

If you know of anyone else who may be interested, please forward this email and copy me so that I can add them to the list.  Also, if you don't want to receive these emails, please let me know.

Blessings,
Tim Perkins

Tim, is there a fund from which we may purchase stuff for the garden ? Specifically, I want to buy a 40 dollar roll of hardware cloth for compost containers.
