The grapes are really close to being ready. I'm worried that two weeks (9/24) may be too long and they may be over ripe.

Are you thinking Saturday or Sunday?

We are planning for Saturday now and we are going to try to pick with volunteers and not hire pros.  Lisa and I are going to get our kids picking (for a small fee)

Ok.  I'll let you know closer to Saturday what we can do. I have to sheath the side of my house and some other major chores and then we have a Yorba dinner we are going to in the evening.

We should start picking early to get a little ahead of the game--start picking while equipment is being set up. Start by 8 or 9 at the latest.
So far Betty, myself and James and Malla. Still waiting on 4 others.

Picking will take the most time; crushing will go quickly and we have about 30 gallons of Zin to bottle.
