Dear All

A small pot of funding that might be able to shore up an event that you are planning.

It may be too much of a hassle for larger entities but the smaller ones could potentially benefit. Please see attached document. Please pass on to other relevant perons.

Kind regards

Marlon

See below information and attached file for information about an opportunity to apply for funding that would enable The Coastal Society and the Taylor & Francis Group to co-sponsor educational events, such as workshops or forums. Between $500-$5,000 is available, although submissions in the range of $1,500 each are recommended. Ideally, the event should be held and funds should be spent before December 31, 2011. However, early 2012 activities (e.g., Jan.- Mar. 2012) will be considered as well. The deadline to submit proposals is 5:00 PM ET on Friday October 7, 2011.

Forwarded message from The Coastal Society's Executive Director, Judy Tucker (coast...@aol.com):

Dear TCS Member,

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce a unique funding opportunity. TCS, together with the Taylor & Francis Group (T&F), began a partnership in 2009 to further each organization's goal of fostering education and outreach on coastal management issues. As part of this relationship, T&F is a sponsor of the TCS conference and also provides funds to support relevant activities during our non-conference years. For 2011, we have $5,000 in funds available. To ensure that the process for awarding funds is transparent, the TCS Board has created an RFP process to encourage proposals for a variety of activities. If you or someone you know is planning an event that will be held later this year or in early 2012, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. This RFP is open to both TCS members and non-TCS members, so please forward this announcement to others who may be interested in applying for funds. Proposals may either request funds that will be u
sed in the p
lanning of a new event or request funds to help sponsor an event already in the planning stage.

The Request for Proposals is attached. The deadline to submit proposals is 5:00 PM (ET) on October 7, and notification will be sent to awardees will be by October 31, 2011. See the RFP for proposal guidelines and how to submit your proposal. If you have questions about the RFP or the process, please contact TCS Executive Director Judy Tucker at coast...@aol.com. Good luck with your proposals! We look forward to receiving them.

Regards,

Lisa Schiavinato
