Vindhyan Ecology and Natural History Foundation invites you to the 6th episode of the talk series- 'The Naturalist' by Ms. Smitha Daniel on 'Understanding Slender Loris' on 10th October 2020 (Saturday) at 11 am.
Smitha Daniel is a primatologist working on Slender Lorise's ecology, their conservation and threats for the last 8 years in the Western Ghats. She is the first person to study the behavioural ecology of the Malabar Slender Loris in its natural habitat. She developed her interest in lorises after she had rescued two Slender Lorises at Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru) in 2009 while working on a wildlife related project. Her research interests also include ecology and conservation of urban bats and wildlife-human interactions.
The online talk series is specially designed to initiate conversation and understanding of vulnerable species, threatened landscapes, less-discussed conservation challenges, and innovative models of environmental consciousness in the Indian subcontinent. The talk follows a flexible format where the expert first talks about the issue followed by an interactive face to face discussion with participants.
The medium of the talk will be in English followed by a discussion with participants. Participation is free. Please register using the following link:
