Hi,
Vindhyan Ecology and Natural History Foundation is starting a talk series titled 'The Naturalist'. The talk series is specially designed to initiate conversation and understanding of vulnerable species, threatened landscapes, less-discussed conservation challenges, and innovative models of environmental consciousness in the Indian subcontinent. The online series will include talks by professionals, researchers, and civil society activists with significant ground experience in addressing a particular conservation issue. The talk follows a flexible format where the expert first talks about the issue followed by an interactive face to face discussion with participants.
The opening talk will be delivered by renowned wildlife biologist Dr. Harendra Singh Bargali on 15 July 2020, Wednesday at 7 pm (IST). The medium of the talk will be in English followed by a discussion which will be in both English and Hindi.
Dr. H.S. Bargali is presently Deputy- Director of Corbett Foundation and Co-Chair of the IUCN Sloth Bear Expert Team. After completing his Ph.D. from Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun in 2003, Dr. Bargali has been working for the conservation of wildlife at the community, state, national and international levels. In addition to sloth bears, he has been working for the conservation of tiger, elephant, and other wildlife by conceptualizing and implementing a number of activities aimed at the human-wildlife conflict.
