Vindhyan Ecology and Natural History Foundation invites you to the 7th episode of the talk series- 'The Naturalist' by Mr. Tarun Nair on 'Understanding Gharials' on 7th November 2020 (Saturday) at 11 am.
Tarun Nair is a conservation biologist with an affinity for crocodiles and rivers. His work largely focuses on understanding the conservation needs of gharials in North-Central India, particularly along the Chambal, Son, and Gandak Rivers. He is also interested in human-wildlife interactions, conservation philosophy, policy, and human impacts on wildlife and ecosystems. He is currently associated with Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment, Bangalore, and a member of the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group.
The online talk series is specially designed to initiate conversation and understanding of vulnerable species, threatened landscapes, less-discussed conservation challenges, and innovative models of environmental consciousness in the Indian subcontinent. The talk follows a flexible format where the expert first talks about the issue followed by an interactive face to face discussion with participants.
