Howto link to files

If someone could help me, or point me to the relevant help, I'd appreciate it.

I have pdfs in a folder `wiki/pdf/`

When I try to create a link using any of these:

[[ file:pdf/test.pdf ]]

[[ local:pdf/test.pdf ]]

I get a link for `test.pdf.html`

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Try without the spaces, i.e. 

[[file:pdf/test.pdf]]
