Adarsh,

I'd be interested in doing the beginners talk. I would structure it in two parts:

1. "Grocking" Vim commands as atomic words which can be combined in infinite ways to make powerful "sentences". (inspired by http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1218390/what-is-your-most-productive-shortcut-with-vim/1220118#1220118)

2. Conceptualizing Vim as a tool which evolves with you and the importance of owning your vimrc. If you are a developer, you like automating systems and evolving your vimrc is a great way to help automate your workflow (which is, after all, a system).

These were the two "ah-ha!" moments that solidified my love for Vim.

I am not an experienced speaker, but my second job is as a singer so I'm used to being in front of people and I'm confident I could do a pretty good job. If you choose me to speak, I'd welcome your feedback on my proposed structure.

Looking forward to the meetup!

Done - you win and based on Ben Orenstein's work, I actually believe singing is a huge benefit to public speaking.

Your structure looks great. Prepare about ~20 mins.

I'll update the invite and email the list.

Super psyched to have a regular up there.

Thanks!
