Forwarding some information concerning e10 support from mozilla. There is even an official bug report ;)

I haven't had a chance to try a e10-Firefox. But does that issue still exist in master and do we know what causes it?

Hello,

I'm writing to inform you about a problem that has been detected in Nightly Firefox builds involving your add-on. As you may know, Electrolysis (e10s) is now on Nightly, which means that each Firefox tab now runs in a separate process (might require a pref flip to activate, see e10s docs below). Add-ons need to change how they interact with web content in order to continue to function.

You can find the bug report for your add-on here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1100918

The documentation about add-ons and e10s is here: https://devnvolving your add-on. Aeloper.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Working_with_multiprocess_Firefox, and you can install Firefox Nightly here: http://nightly.mozilla.org/

If you have any questions or think you have found a bug, please comment on your add-on's bug report or go to the #e10s channel on IRC (http://wiki.mozilla.org/IRC). We encourage you to make your add-on work with e10s as soon as possible, since this will ensure the success of this new major step in Firefox development.

Thanks!

Would be really nice if Vimperator was made available to use with e10s as it, at least for me, increases performance and responsiveness of Firefox by a lot. Although I suppose it would take a lot of work in order to be made available as it messes up with Firefox's content a lot :(

Well, here's hoping the developers will find a way! :)

I mentioned this in the relevant bugs:
https://github.com/vimperator/vimperator-labs/issues/211
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1100918

but just to flag here -- e10s is turned on by default on Firefox 42 which is now on the main beta (Aurora/Firefox Developer Edition) release. The incompatibilities between Vimperator and e10s still exist -- which means anyone using Vimperator will have to either disabled e10s or Vimperator for Firefox to work properly.

Good to know. I have mostly fixed vimperator's issues with previous nightly (now aurora) versions. That will definitely be in an official release of vimperator before that version of firefox (41) becomes stable.
Unfortunately, given my limited time, I don't think I'll be able to get e10s support by version 42 hitting stable. I hope we'll be able to, but we'll have to see.
And yep, meantime, you need to either disable e10s or not use vimperator for a bit.
