Issues with Viewing My Videos and loss of Download ability

First: Great App for Android.. As a Vimeo user, I appreciate the
ability to access the videos in my account from my cell (EVO 4G). The
two issues I would like help with are:

1. My videos do not play reliably. They present with a white screen
when launched. This is independent of any options settings. Other
videos on vimeo either play or state they are not compatible with my
device. If I access and play the video using the internet browser. The
video streams just fine.

2. Prior to the last update (0.3.3), I was able to download videos to
the download folder. Note: the downloaded videos would play in the HTC
player. Since the update however, the download starts and then quickly
ends without creating a file.

I have tried clearing the cache, runnng from phone memory, running
from SD, clearing data, reloading the application. All testing has
been done using a high speed wifi connection.

I hope there these issues can be addressed simply. Also, is there a
way to download earlier versions of the software (0.3.0) as I believe
this will restore the download capability.

Hi Pete,

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I actually have an EVO 4G as well
myself, but no longer with cellular service. I've changed the ROM to run
Cyanogen Mod so that I could test out with a non-HTC ROM. I also have the
HTC Thunderbolt, which is very similar to the EVO in specs.

The issue with the white screen may be a result of viewing old videos. A
little while ago, Vimeo only encoded videos in Flash video format, however
now they encode in MP4. For older Flash encoded videos, instead of using a
video player, I use the built-in web browser and embed the Flash Video into
a page. This is the reason why you see a white screen.

As far as downloading/playing, I'll take a look into the issue and see if I
can reproduce and fix it.

Appreciate you taking the time to let me know about these issues. We just
moved into a new house a few weeks ago and between work, fixing up things in
the house, unpacking and watching my son, it's been leaving me with little
time to focus on improving the app lately.

Thanks for the quick response and I understand the issue with
available time...

As far as the "white screen" video's go. The are recent (most recent
uploaded this week). I encode the video's myself using either Matrox
Max hardware encoder or a Mainconcept codec. The uploaded video's are
1280x720 h.264 3.1 profile with 128-bit AAC audio. How they are
transcoded by vimeo for streaming to vimeo droid I cannot say. Again,
they do play fine from the vimeo site on the EVO if I use the phone's
Internet browser to view.

Prior to the last update I was able to use your Apps download feature
to download the files to the download folder and then view them with
the phone's viewer.

I'm also having issues with downloading videos on my G2X.
