Hey y'all,

Hope everyone had (and has an upcoming) nice holiday. I'd like to host
a meetup next month on either Tuesday, January 18 or Thursday, January
20. Any preferences either way?

There's a ton of topics to talk about. If you'd like to hear anything
in particular, respond and let us know.

* tabs and tab-based editing strategies
* all about marks (or, why tabs and tab-based strategies are for the
birds)
* vim plugin writing: a case study
* vimgolf
* recent enhancements to rails.vim, cucumber.vim, rspec.vim, et al
* folding techniques and a discussion of their usefulness
* toolkit for effective third-party code diving

As always, we'll try to have two to three shorter topics. There may or
may not be cash and prizes available for those that would like to
present a topic. We can host at the Hashrocket office, where food and
drink are always free and plentiful.

Thanks,
Veez

I vote vote for the 20th, as it gives me the best chance of being there
:)

I'm in for the 20th, too. Looking forward to it!

20th is good for me, too. I'm available for anything three weeks in the future. :-)

Awesome, the 20th it is. If nobody has any suggestions, we'll present
some topics of our choosing, both from the list below and from our own
personal caches. I've created a gathers.us event for us - please use
it to RSVP, and share the link with your friends.

Looking forward to nerding out on vim in public again!

Thanks,
Veez

Sorry for being late to the thread, but I wanted to let you know that the ChiSC (Chicago Software Craftsmanship) group will be hosting Uncle Bob on the 20th.  I wanted to let you know now, I'm sure a lot of you will want to be able to attend both meetings.  As for me, I'm going to try to make it out.  Glad we're having these again!

Cheers,

-Tyler

Hey man,

Thanks for the heads up. I did some searching, and didn't find any
information about the ChiSC meeting in January. Is there an
announcement somewhere, or do you have a time and location? The last
meeting took a little more than two hours, if I remember correctly; we
probably couldn't have both unless we had a short vimchi that started
early and ChiSC was at 8th Light's office on Lake Street again.

Thanks,
Veez

So does this mean the 20th is off for a vim meetup? :)
