Hi,

i have a new installation on Ubuntu 12.04 with postfix / dovecot and vimbadmin.
For this i followed the tutorial on http://pietervogelaar.nl/ubuntu-12-04-install-postfix-dovecot-and-vimbadmin/

However, when i create a new domain in the vimbadmin Panel, no folder in /var/vmail is created.

The first question is: am i right, assuming that vimbadmin should create such a folder (e.g. domain: example.com -> /var/vmail/example.com) should be created?
The second is: how can i increase the loglevel of vimbadmin?

Thanks in advance
Daniel

UPDATE:

Ok, part 1 is solved...unfortunately i can't tell what solved it, but it's Postfixes Job to create those folders.
Vimbadmin complains, that it could not send mails. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks, Daniel.

It is not an issue, Daniel.

Vimbadmin do not touch your filesystem neither with new users/domains nor with delete user/domain.

Hi Rodolfo,

thanks for clarification. But vimbadmin sends a welcome email to a newly created account. When I try to do that, vimbadmin says
"Could not sent email" - Have you come along that? Is there a method to increase the debug-level?

Thanks, Daniel

You need to configure a relay server in application/configs/application.ini:

See this section: http://git.io/6m2qow

> Is there a method to increase the debug-level?

See this section: http://git.io/PRXdVw and set:

resources.logger.enabled = 1
resources.logger.writers.stream.level = 7

Then see log files in {$where_you_installed_vimbadmin}/var/log/2014/02/...

Thanks Barry,

the first thing did the trick.
Actually I had this debug level...maybe vimbadmin is not that chatty at all. :)

Are the proposed settings in the welcome email taken from the actual configuration of postfix, or are these just standard values?

Thanks,
Daniel

They are also taken from application.ini.

Does vimbadmin send other e-mails ? (i.e. password reminder)

Perhaps you may take a look on  application/configs/application.ini at line resources.mailer.smtphost and other related parameters.
