So I have a UMG widget that contains my video player. Inside that I have my Media Player, which I am controlling playback for, and within which I want to be able to control the volume. What do I need to do to assign this Media Player a sound class which I can then affect by popping/pushing mix modifiers?
However, ff you drag your sound wave from the content browser to the editor, it will make an ambient sound component automatically for you. In that case, you can just add a sound class override to the ambient actor like in the following screenshot (i just tested media player waves working with the sound class system):
There are no volume controls on the MediaPlayer or the MediaSoundWave. You need to control the volume on your sound assets instead. The MediaSoundWave works just like any other SoundWave node and can be used in the Sound Editor.
Agreed that this is totally not ideal, but it should theoretically work to set all game volume based on a user-pref slider. If you have github access you should be able to get the new feature from this integration to main from our internal dev-framework stream:
Can you please have the audio for mp4 files that are written to the memory card be more universally supported by media players? With the current audio codec used one must use ONE specific player (VLC Player) when there are tons of perfectly good codecs and players already in widespread use is a pain.
If you view a video created by a Wyze camera on a computer, you may not hear audio depending on the media player you are using. Windows' default media player does not have the proper audio codex, b...
So what you are asking is for the A-Law format to be changed. I think that is within the realm of something Wyze might be interested in, as there are so many audio problems at the moment that they may want to change that audio format as part of the cleanup process.
We can play recorded events on the device, but not if downloaded or shared with others. The issue is the codec used by Wyze is not natively supported on Andriod, iOS, Mac, PC or Chrome systems/devices. Requiring a 3rd party product, such as VLC, is not an acceptable solution. I tried using Camtasia and heard only a small burst of static then nothing. This needs fixing asap.
Downloaded directly from app, When played on my phone, no audio. Copied to my computer the d/l file, with no audio until I tried VLC. I also tried sharing from the Wyze app to the family who were not able to hear it, either.
There is no recording on the memory card - seems the advanced, local Storage, setting for Record Events Only did not record to the card. I have changed to Continuous recording and will check it later.
When I used the app to download, it downloaded. After trying to (unsuccessfully) hear the audio using the 'droid app, I copied to my computer and had the same issue with media player. When I shared it from the Event itself, same result.
Is there a way to reset the codec used in the Wyze app?
Just to verify, I just right now shared a recorded 12 second event to email back to myself. I downloaded and opened in VLC - codec is PCM ALAW. By your description, the system is not recording properly. The share and transmission via email should not have modified the codec, right?
OMG, apologies. I always watch my clips using the app or VLC, and I just noticed all the clips I have been saying I downloaded from my camera actually went thru iMovie first. So iMovie has been translating them to AAC!
I had installed VLC media player from the Ubuntu Software Center recently. It worked for some time, but then instead of the video, only a blank screen was displayed with the audio. Even the same videos that could be played before did not work.
How I found this out: I have a playlist file on the desktop. I typically press the "Show Desktop" button to minimize all windows before I run that playlist file. If VLC was already opened, it is now minimized. If I then open the playlist file, the VLC windows will pop back up, but the video will fail.
If the VLC still play without video the problem can be due to the incompatible video codec contained in the files. In this case, maybe need to convert the file to VLC more supported video format. You can choose Makemkv or Pavtube video converter, both powerful video tools.
Easy fix and no u don't need to listen to the above. Go into VLC and go to bottom right where the 3 dots are located and go to settings. Then go to video settings and turn off hardware decoding. Problem solved
I had the same issue on Ubuntu 22.10 Wayland VLC 3.0.17.4. When I purged the application, it worked exactly one time. When the vlc was launched for the second time, the video remained blank, however any snapshot taken worked.
I had the same problem with fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 and fresh VLC.My video card is NVidia and I was using the binary proprietary driver version 361.42I switched to version 340.96 of the same driver and I got the video running without any problems.
This happened to me when I accidentally deleted libavcodec (probably it was targeted by apt-get autoremove after deleting some other package). In my case no player (I tried vlc, xplayer, smplayer) except browsers were not able to play any video (I tried for mp4, avi, mkv) but the audio worked. Re-installing this package fixed my problem. So check if it's installed.
I'm looking for a way to use my OMV Hardware also as Mediaplayer. Important are HD-Audio Outputs (Dolby Atmos) and i'm familiar with Kodi and also a bit with Plex. The OMV system is connected with HDMI to a HD-Audio-Receiver.
I have kodi server running fine on my OMV on a docker, and play videos on my LG fine, but you do not want this I suppose, you want to use HDMI output on your NAS to connect it to an monitor or TV and show movies, if yes, is not possible.
After all i installed LibeELEC as OS to get Dolby Atmos and a full media player. That worked out of the box. For all other things i've used the LibreElec / Kodi Docker-Addon. Works like a charm, does not use many resources.
The reason I am making yet another thread is I have no idea what the developers are doing with regard to issue tracking. Since the Roku Media Player update has a LOT of broken features and bugs, and they don't seem to be rolling it back this time, I have no idea where to be reporting new bugs and issues found. It doesn't seem likely developers are going to see posts buried in the many different threads on the topic, where each thread has a lot of chatter not directly relating to found bugs.
On MKV files with multi audio tracks, it is no longer possible to play anything other than the default track. The original Roku Media Player allowed users to select the track, and even displayed the track names as entered in MKVToolNix/MKVMerge. Now, on the menu brought up by pressing "*" during playback, the "Audio track " option is greyed out, and when highlighting the option, the text above the menu says, "Only the default audio track is available".
MKV was being played via network DLNA. It had three audio tracks - 5.1 surround, stereo, and commentary. Original Roku Media Player handled it fine. Other DLNA clients (smart TV, Blu-Ray player) also handle it fine.
my "solution" was to use avidemux to swap the audio tracks on the videos i have to make the one i want most often to be the first/default audio track. Oy! my sony bravia/android tv's media player does allow the choice of track (however i must note that player is otherwise much worse than RMP otherwise, but they did make some improvements in the sep-2020 sony/android release)
I've also recently investigated audio popping sounds when playing back mkv videos. At first I thought my encodes had distorted audio tracks, but the popping didn't occur on other devices (computer, TV media player, Blu-Ray media player). Yet another issue with RMP 5.
I can access my Western Digital NAS but not the Synology NAS. not sure why, but I have a feeling that it is because the Synology is more secure than the Western Digital. that is unfortunate because the Western Digital was more for backup and the Synology was the working NAS.
Appreciate the update Dathead2, I check the forum every once in awhile to see if they got around to fixing WMP. I must say, your avidemux solution is impressive. I only break out avidemux when I have to fix an audio sync issue...
Checking this page :mp3_player.png on the docs I can see there's a larger png, but only the 'thumb icon' is used when displaying on page, which is tiny on bigger screens and quite unusable.
I took screen snaps of it in its 2 stages. The first one is perfect, but then it just changes to this little one. I would do anything right now to figure out how to keep it the way it is when it first loads.
I agree the mp3 multimedia player is just not very versatile so you might want to try what I have switched to...I added the PoodLL filter and have it set to play mp3 files instead of the standard Moodle player. The advantage is that it has settings for both height and width as well as background color. It even has a mini-player
I haven't made a permanent fix to replace the player in embedded content, but I do sometimes advise users to simply drag and drop .mp3 files on their home page and change the resource's parameters to open in a pop-up window (which uses the large player by default).
I still prefer to turn the regular Moodle media player off and use the PoodLL filter. I have a number of Moodle sites and use a different color theme for each. The PoodLL filter lets me set the color of the audio player so it is possible to match the theme colors.
