Hi!
I want to compile vim with gui on my Ubuntu 10.10 64bits, and I did
the two steps that I saw on this mailing list:

$ sudo apt-get install xorg-dev

and

$ sudo apt-get build-dep vim-gnome

but when I tried to configure, with the command
./configure --enable-rubyinterp --enable-cscope --enable-fontset --
enable-gui=gnome2 --with-features=huge --with-compiledby="Felipe
Orellana Castillo"

And including or not the --with-x option too

Still can't set the gui, and I recieve this message

> checking --enable-gui argument... no GUI support

I already installed a lot of packages, I don't know what's wrong
I wish you could help me
I left a full <a href="http://www.dcc.uchile.cl/~forellan/
out.txt">configure output</a>
Thanks, Greetings

I don't see any error message

I've installed gnome-devel package because It may be useful, but not
I'm keep recieving the same lines =/

checking for X... (cached) no
checking if X11 header files can be found... yes
checking --enable-gui argument... no GUI support
checking for X11/SM/SMlib.h... (cached) no
no GUI selected; fontset has been disabled

by the way, I found that X11/SM/SMlib.h was on my computer
in /usr/include/X11/SM/SMlib.h but it's not seen from the configurator
I imagine maybe that's the problem, but I don't know how to fix it

It said cached so that you may need to delete the file
src/auto/config.cache and try again.

BTW please do not top-posting assuming you know what top-posting means.

It is explained in the message, appended at the end of each post:
> Do not top-post! Type your reply below the text you are replying to.
I suggest you to do like me: keep bottom-posting and move up the text you are
actually replying to in order not to generate those fucking long quotes that
should be scrolled down to view the actual reply. They are ridiculous.

If you don't want to do this, just forget. Top-posting is much better then
overquoting at the top.
