FWIW, I've had trouble with the Gnome version (7.1.87), running on a separate
box to Gnome (X and Gnome running on a small desktop, ssh to server, gvim on
server), a dialogue box popping up with lots of errors something like "Adding
client to server's list failed, CORBA error: IDL:omg.org". I put it down
to some mismatch between some Gnome thing on the local box and the server;
export CONF_OPT_GUI=--enable-gui=gtk2
was the solution. Vim had to be compiled separately on the server.
Does Gnome give vim anything other than automatic session restoration?
(Something I would have to unlearn much to use.)
Regards to all, John
i suppose we'd have to count the fact that it masks the bug i
was discussing in the original thread
