Hi,

Snapshot 41 was not linked with the iconv library and hence would
crash as soon as iconv functionality was used. For this reason I
built a new snapshot and everybody who have downloaded snap 41 should
update _now_. Get the new snapshot here:

http://code.google.com/p/macvim/wiki/Snapshot

I should point out that if you are using snap 39 or 40 the automatic
updating feature might not work, in which case you will have to
upgrade to 41 manually.

Hello,

many thanks for creating MacVim - it has saved me from many hours of
frustration.

I've built Snapshot 42 and upon launching mvim from the Terminal I get
this output:

After that, MacVim opens up fine.

I also noticed that I see two MacVim badges in my Dock - one is fully
functional and has the correct menu, whereas the second one (seems
like it is the parent) just has File, Edit, Window and Help. It is a
bit annoying, but nothing world-ending. Just thought I should mention
it.

Thanks again,
Orestis

What do you mean when you say you've _built_ snapshot 42? From the
error messages it seems like you have indeed built a custom version of
MacVim and that there were some problems during the build. Be sure to
follow the instructions
(http://code.google.com/p/macvim/wiki/Building) _very_ carefully. In
particular, be sure not to mistype any of the parameters to
"configure" (in your output it seems like "--with-gui=macvim" is
missing, or mistyped).

Ugh! What I meant to type was "--enable-gui=macvim" and nothing else.

D'oh! I had mistyped a parameter in my build script (--enable-gui-
macvim rather than --enable-gui=macvim - notice the equals sign). When
I say 'built snapshot 42' I mean I checkout the revision tagged as
snapshot 42 (well, this one's not tagged, but it has a commit message)
and build it. Indeed fixing that configuration variable fixes both my
problems. Sorry for troubling you!

Weird how the GUI still comes up even if not configured...

Thanks,
Orestis

No worries. Thanks for reminding me about the tag for snapshot 42...I
had forgotten to push it but I've done so now.

How do I unsubscribe to this list? I tried sending a message to the unsubscribe email, but that didn't work.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Go to http://groups.google.com/group/vim_mac/ , sign in (top right
corner), click "Edit my Membership" in the right column, hit
"Unsubscribe" button.

When did you unsubscribe? Perhaps it takes a while until your mail is
processed.

Send a blank mail to
vim-mac-u...@vim.org

The "From" address you use to send this mail must be the one that
receives the mailing list.

Do the above. If doesn't work within 12 hours, reply here and I'll
unsubscribe you.

Nico's advice is good, but to follow it you would need a Google account.
