I just downloaded version 9.0 from the FTP server and everything is assembled and installed - none of the parameters for assembly are different from assembly 9.1

Just here to verify that I'm having the same issue on a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS. The problem only occurs when trying to build Vim with clipboard support (i.e. after installing libxt-dev and running make reconfig)

The thing is that in the Wayland repository this header is marked as deprecated

If I understood everything correctly, then including the necessary directory will not help

Perhaps I do not understand the situation correctly?

Maybe you needed to install wayland-scanner-dev?
Maybe I needed to install wayland-scanner-dev
By the way! I have wayland-scanner++ available for installation - I don't know if that plays a role?

If you type wayland-scanner on the command-line, does it say it doesn't exist?

Weird, the files aren't being generated... Can you change directory into src/auto/wayland and manually run make? There should be some new files generated

@chrisbra Can you revert patch 9.1.1725? I'm also experiencing a freezing bug related to the Wayland code. I'll test it for a while myself until I think it will be ready again.

easy

@chrisbra Sorry for the trouble.

I am pleased to make my small contribution to your enormous work, which I enjoy using every day!

I've been following along with this conversation since I've been having the same issue. Manually running make in the vim/src/auto/wayland directory fixed the compilation error for me. Thanks for the help @64-bitman !

Does it compile fine now?

Sorry, I lied to you, but not on purpose.
I must have gotten confused somewhere
I repeated all the steps with make in the src/auto/wayland directory
Then I went to /vim and everything was built without errors
I apologize again
I have a night shift, I'll be home soon - I must be tired

But!

Today I hit this issue on GitHub Actions:

https://github.com/rhysd/action-setup-vim/actions/runs/18409282410/job/52456999582

It seems that the same build worked fine 4 days ago (Oct. 6):

https://github.com/rhysd/action-setup-vim/actions/runs/18280721722/job/52042990554

Is there any regression around this issue recently? The failing command is quite simple:

./configure --prefix=/home/runner/vim-nightly --with-features=huge --enable-fail-if-missing
