[vim/vim] Gvim UI freeze using fugitive (Issue #19471)

umglurf created an issue (vim/vim#19471)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set up empty vim config dir in ~/.config/vim
  2. Create ~/.config/vim/pack/test/start
  3. Checkout fugitive in ~/.config/vim/pack/test/start
  4. Start gvim in a git directory
  5. Run :Git status

Expected behaviour

Output of git status is shown

Version of Vim

v9.2.0010

Environment

Operating system: Ubuntu 24.04
Terminal: N/A
Value of $TERM: N/A
Shell: fish

I ran git bisect and found that this commit seems to be the cause.

Hi, I tried both v9.2.0018 and the latest, v9.2.0038, it still freezes on both of these. v9.2.0009 it the last version where it works without freeze.
