  • Document that CursorLineFold and CursorLineSign only apply when 'cursorlineopt' contains "number" or is "both", matching existing behavior and CursorLineNr.
  • Mention fold/sign in the 'cursorlineopt' "number" description.
    Fixes #20480

thanks, that documents the status quo. I am wondering if we rather should make the highlighting independent of 'cursorlineopt'?

Thanks. Happy to document the current behavior, or to change the highlighting so CursorLineFold/CursorLineSign apply whenever 'cursorline' is set and no longer depend on 'cursorlineopt'.
Which do you prefer?

  • Keep this docs-only change, or
  • Change the highlighting (and revert the extra docs wording if it would then be unused)
I can follow up with a patch for the highlighting change if you want that.
