Ignoring the current implementation for the moment, I think this change needs to be configurable and probably off by default. I don't recall any strong demand for this feature.

It should, ideally, also be broken up into two syntax groups, one for operators and one for punctuation.

Can this conflict with style of cFunction?
And with other groups that use (), [], or {}?
