Problem with opening urls with vim 9.815

I'm using  vim 9.815 on Windows 10 Home, compiled with MinGW64. When I
type gx or :Utl on a url, say https://www.google.com, I get the site
displayed, but when I type it again, after a couple of minutes, I get:

Vi Improved - A Text Editor has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available

Debug    Close program
----------

That didn't happen with older releases, at least not with vim 9.667

This is likely the same issue as https://github.com/vim/vim/issues/11424

Downgrading to 9.0.0814 should fix it.
