As far as I can remember, the Vim groups have always used polite language and understanding behaviour. You can't legislate that, but you can encourage it by example. Some of the points of that so-called code of conduct, for instance making so-called inclusive language mandatory in all circumstances, seem to me to be out of place in a group like this one, where people from all countries and behaviour customs are welcome.
