Checkstyle support for Java

Hi, java basic checker is said to be limited by the documentation, which recommend the use of checkstyle checker.

But the checker's documentation is unclear to me, where should I put the checker.jar file that I need to provide as the value of the g:syntastic_java_checkstyle_classpath variable (as well as the checkstyle conf file) ? Should it be inside every java project that I create, or should it be in one single place in my filesystem ?
