Switching between `.R` file and terminal emulator

Hi,
Apologies if this is a repeat question, covered in docs, or, indeed, just glaringly obvious.
I am having trouble switching between the .R file and the terminal emulator underneath.
As-is, I need to use the mouse, which really breaks the flow.
I had a previous incarnation of this code, and I was able to just use TMUX to toggle the frames, but I can't use that any more.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
