Lots of git folks here, .. hope some of you folks support Windows users!

We have a client that will be checking in files between test & prod
servers, he best client will be a gui, and I have two problems with that,
as I:

1) Have never used a gui git client <g>!
and
2) Avoid Windows entirely if at all possible.

Unfortunately, most of the client reviews are for git gui's target public
repositories such as github, et al.

In this case, he needs a client that will be happy with a ssh connection
to a local repository server.

Any pointers?

TIA!

And while you're at it, have them install https://code.visualstudio.com/.  They can edit and do git stuff directly in the editor.

And to swing this around to something Vim-related, if you want to try out vscode yourself, try out the Vim extension (https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=vscodevim.vim).  It makes vscode fairly usable if you're used to Vim.

And of course if you want to stay inside Vim while handling all your git needs, Tim Pope just released a new major version of Fugitive:
