SupportAssist scans the Dell computer, detects existing drivers and Dell software utilities that are based on the operating system that is installed on the computer and proposes a list of recommended driver and software updates.

Dell Command Deploy Driver Pack, contains the drivers in the form of .exe files for Dell commercial client computers. The Driver Packs help with the Windows operating system deployment process by using Microsoft End Point Manager Configuration Manager (MEMCM) or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).

Dell Support website allows you to download drivers, firmware, and some software applications for Dell desktops, laptops, all-in-one computers, docking stations, tablets, mobile devices, printers, monitors, projectors, servers, storage & networking devices, and so on. Drivers must be installed and/or updated when you reinstall the operating system or when you experience an issue such as no audio playback from the speakers. Driver updates are also notified through apps such as SupportAssist.

WARNING: Downloading and installing Dell-developed drivers or software from third-party or unknown sources can cause the computer or device not to work correctly, cause the computer to crash or not boot into the operating system, or in some rare instances infect the computer with virus, trojan, or other malicious software.

SupportAssist application is preinstalled on Dell computers that are shipped with Microsoft Windows operating system. SupportAssist scans and analyzes your Dell computer for driver updates. After analyzing, SupportAssist downloads and installs the latest Dell drivers.

Dell_RBU driver supports BIOS update using the monolithic image and packetizedimage methods. In case of monolithic the driver allocates a contiguous chunkof physical pages having the BIOS image. In case of packetized the appusing the driver breaks the image in to packets of fixed sizes and the driverwould place each packet in contiguous physical memory. The driver alsomaintains a link list of packets for reading them back.

The driver supports two types of update mechanism; monolithic and packetized. These update mechanism depends upon the BIOS currently running on the system. Most of the Dell systems support a monolithic update where the BIOS image iscopied to a single contiguous block of physical memory.

By default the driver uses monolithic memory for the update type. This can bechanged to packets during the driver load time by specifying the loadparameter image_type=packet. This can also be changed later as below:

This file is then copied to /sys/class/firmware/dell_rbu/data.Once this file gets to the driver, the driver extracts packet_size data fromthe file and spreads it across the physical memory in contiguous packet_sizedspace.

I keep getting this message every time I try and connect to a network drive even after I reinstall windows and unplug literally everything. I checked device manager and nothing has a problem over there since I downloaded all the drivers. I got this message after my hard drive literally died on me but I took it out and replaced it. I've reinstalled windows at least 10 times and somehow there's still a device that isn't functioning.

a) test the hardware using dell diagnostics long test > post images of the tests performed with results
b) make a new bootable windows 10 iso
c) perform a clean install WIndows 10
d) install no drivers, or applications
e) run the computer with Microsoft default drivers

I tested connecting to the drive with those drivers for hours and eventually i gave up and just set my computer back up. For some reason my computer even on a fresh install of windows 10 says that a device connected to the system is not functioning.

The graphics drivers are from NVCleanstall. I made a new bootable Windows 10 iso to install this current os. I even went and unplugged everything from the system when installing. The only thing i had plugged in was a mouse and keyboard

Gsync broken on Dell S2721DGF, tried all drivers. Popular monitor and gsync certified. When gsync is enabled games black screen out constantly unless I disable flipping which breaks gsync. I am really hoping this gets fixed.
