Philosophy Club, Friday, 10/10, "Humor"

[VillagesPhilosophy]

The Philosophy Club meets Friday afternoons at Lake Miona Recreation Center in The Villages, FL.  Meetings start promptly at 4:00PM and end at 5:30PM. Presenters usually speak for 25 to 45 minutes, followed by a Discussion Period where the Leader and Audience Members ask Questions and express their Opinions, and the Presenter replies.

Anthony Aguilar is a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel and special Forces officer (Green Beret) who served for 25 years. In 2025, he became known as a whistleblower after making public allegations about operations at U.S.-and-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites in Gaza, where he worked as a security contractor for UG Solutions. His allegations of misconduct and war crimes at the aid sites sparked significant media coverage and official inquiries.

Noah Webster of dictionary fame will come alive and tell us how each letter of the alphabet evolved physically and sound-wise from their inception thousands of years ago. Plus he will detail how these letters were printed on paper and how our language has been transformed over the ages.
